Encore Seniors' Education Centre
Founded in 1994, this award winning program offers a variety of learning opportunities to enrich the lives of older adults, utilizing local resources and volunteers. The members of the volunteer board which runs the program and the volunteer instructors are all seniors from the community.

Generation Bridge

Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes and Services for Seniors (<abbr>OANHSS</abbr>)
<abbr>OANHSS</abbr> is a provincial, non-profit organization representing long term care facilities, seniors housing, and community agencies that provide care and services on a not-for-profit basis.

Ontario Society (Coalition) of Senior Citizens' Organizations (<abbr>OCSCO</abbr>)
<abbr>OCSCO</abbr>'s mission is to improve the quality of life for Ontario's seniors through offering education programs, policy and research, information, referral, counseling, research materials, outreach and support, self-help and vounteer programs.

Seniors' Safe Medication Use Program
The Seniors Safe Medication Use Program has been running for three years with overwhelming success. The seminars are available in communities across Ontario and are delivered by a community pharmacist. Each seminar covers a variety of important topics for seniors relating to medication use including dangerous drug/food interactions, non-compliance with drug therapy, storage of medications, over the counter medicines, and much more.

Falls represent a serious and widespread problem in Canada, with about one third of older Canadians experiencing a fall each year, and many suffering the pain and loss of independence that often result. Section 1 of Promising Pathways provides information on the most effective strategies and interventions for reducing falls and preventing injuries among seniors who live in the community.
