Centres for Seniors, Windsor
Seniors' centre offers social, recreational, educational, volunteer and service opportunities through centrally-located accessible facilities. Recreation options include Tai Chi classes, fitness, silversmithing, tap dancing, line dancing, arts and crafts, luncheons, cards, speakers, lectures, basic computer lessons, beginner and advanced Internet instruction. Internet access through Community Access Program (CAP) and more. Outreach services include: information and referral, foot care, friendly visitation, Telephone Assurance Program (TAP), transportation services, income tax clinics and pension information. Membership fee allows access to programs at both Centres. Day passes are available for non-members.

Community Psychogeriatric Outreach (Mental Health Program for Older Adults)
Mental health program for seniors. Works to improve the mental health of older adults suffering from severe mental health problems. Offers in-home and clinical assessment, consultation, treatment, referral and education.

Day Away Program
Day-away program provides stimulation and guidance for persons with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias, participation in planned activities and socialization. Full lunches, snacks and transportation is available. Support for the caregiver for a much needed break.

Elder Abuse Resource & Prevention Committee - Windsor/Essex County
Voluntary committee comprised of 26 community member agencies and organizations serving older adults. Educates the community about elder abuse and neglect; promotes and supports initiatives leading to prevention of elder abuse; advocates for services that prevent and/or reduce elder abuse; maintains links at the federal, provincial and municipal level to support elder abuse prevention.

Elder Abuse Response Program
Coordinates intervention services for neglected and abused older adults. Assists in developing protocols for agencies responding to suspected abuse and/or neglect. Trains service providers to recognize and respond to suspected abuse and neglect of older adults.

Meals On Wheels' primary focus is to provide proper nutrition to the homebound elderly(55+), which in turn helps them amintain their independence and health. Services are offered, daily, weekly or just occassionally as needed.
