Do you live in Canada? In accordance with the Income Tax Act, if your net income before adjustments (line 234 on the tax return) exceeds $66,335 (for 2009), you may have to repay part or all of your pension.

Pension and Release Benefits under the CFSA and Elections to Pay for Prior Pensionable Service
Pension Services manages the calculation, audit and certification of payments of pensions, survivor's annual allowances, minimum benefits, cash termination allowances, gratuities, and returns of contributions in accordance with pension legislation. In addition we verify elections to pay for prior pensionable service and the various plans of repayment for this service.
